Furukawacho Kurouchi's Asagiri Forest is a beautiful forest thick with katsura trees stretching out across the area. It is a spot symbolizing Hida Furukawa, known as the “City of Rising Morning Mist.” Whether you visit in the early morning when mist hangs thick or during the day when sunlight filters through the trees, you are sure to discover nature's fantastical beauty.
Two walking trails run to the north and south, each offering a roughly 30-minute hiking course. Midway along the southern route, you'll come across a medicinal herb garden featuring herbs native to Hida. Visitors can learn about these herbs while enjoying the forest bathing experience.
