Access Hida

Hida is located in the northern part of Gifu prefecture. The two main ways to reach Hida involve travelling via Toyama (to the north) or via Nagoya (to the south).

Hida can be reached in only 16 mins by JR train from Takayama to the south, and is easy to get to from other Gifu attractions like Shirakawa-go and Gero Onsen.

By Train

If you're visiting Hida by train, plan to arrive at Hida-Furukawa Station.

From Takayama

16 mins on JR Takayama Line (3 stops). One or two trains run every hour.
