Mount Anbou

安峰山

Surrounded by mountains, Hida Furukawa is one of the most perfect spots in Japan to experience the majestic natural occurrence of morning fog, or asagiri, in autumn. With a hike to the top of the charming Mount Anbou, trekkers can catch a rare glimpse of rolls of fog enveloping the mountains and landscape of Hida Furukawa.

From early morning to around 10am on clear days with no wind the whole surrounding area becomes a natural wonder and one which makes the trip to the Mount Anbou observation deck worth every minute.
