Due to the geography of Hida, surrounded by dramatic mountain ranges, the quality of rice and sake due to the pure mountain water is known as being some of the finest in Japan. One of the top sake breweries in Hida is Kaba Sake Brewery which has a history dating back over 300 years.

Kaba's signature sake "Shiramayumi" is a three-time gold medal winner in The Fine Sake Awards Japan competition.

Located in a beautiful and historically important building, Kaba Sake Brewery is a wonderfully atmospheric place to sample and purchase some of Gifu and Japan's most sought after and respected sake.
