Asagari no Mori Forest

朝霧の森

Enjoy a pleasant walk beneath the trees.

Located west of central Hida in Hida Furukawa's Kurouchi area, Asagiri no Mori is a beautiful forest thick with katsura trees.

This forest symbolizes Hida Furukawa and is often referred to as the "town of morning mist." Whether you visit in the early morning when mist blankets the forest or during the day when sunlight filters through the trees, Asagiri no Mori reveals its enchanting beauty in every season and at every hour.

The forest has two walking trails: one to the north and one to the south, each offering a hiking course of about 30 minutes. Halfway along the southern route is a medicinal herb garden featuring herbs native to the Hida region, where you can learn about traditional medicinal plants.

Hida Kurort Health Walking events (link only in Japanese) are held regularly, combining healthy walking with nature admiration.

*If you visit Asagiri no Mori by car, please park your car here (Google Maps).
