Ajidokoro Furukawa

味処古川

Ajidokoro Furukawa is a large machiya-style restaurant in the city center, located just over the road from Festival Square and its surrounding cultural landmarks.

The downstairs restaurant serves a range of local classics: try from a selection of Hida jidori chicken dishes (like local Keichan), Hida ramen, Houba miso, Hida beef steak, or Okuhida Bokunen Soba.

The wooden, traditional interior seats up to 44 people in the downstairs restaurant adjacent to a souvenir shop, with zashiki-style tatami seating upstairs available for larger groups.

Outside seating provides a scenic rest point — it is also said to be an inspiration for the Your Name anime, where the main characters stopped to eat gohei-mochi (grilled rice cake with miso).
