Ichinomachi Cafe

壱之町珈琲店

Currently closed

This idyllic cafe, which occupies a traditional, restored machiya building, sits on a backstreet on the southside of the city centre facing Honkoji temple.

Step inside to discover a welcoming, rustic interior where you can take a well-deserved rest to a backdrop of gentle jazz notes and local artwork exhibits adorning the walls. Get lucky by snagging the window cushions that overlook the interior courtyard and its miniature Japanese garden.

Alongside a coffee (or tea), order some homemade fare from the deceptively simple menu — whether that be curry rice or melon pan.
