Asunaro Coffee

自家焙煎珈琲 あすなろ

Enjoy home-roasted coffee at Asunaro Coffee in the Kamioka area of eastern Hida. Asunaro is located inside the former Okuhida Onsenguchi Station Building, located at the end of the former Kamioka Railway line (ceased in 2006). The cafe, running since 1986, boasts a distinctly retro vibe and warm interior.

Choose from several brands of coffee including the smooth Asunaro Blend (450 yen) or dark-roast Kenya Blend (450 yen). Try from a range of light bites, including the coffee shop's handmade bread made with flower yeast and domestic wheat. For the ideal souvenir, you can also purchase coffee beans to go or individual Hida-branded drip coffee packs.

The coffee shop is located next door to the Rail Mountain Bike experience, Gattan-go, which turned the former railway line into a local tourist attraction. It makes Asunaro an ideal rest stop for weary cyclists.
